I made this and it was delicious and easy to put together. I mixed half with pasta, sprinkled cheese on top and put it in the oven for 20 mins.

Do you throw the Parmesan in or is this for serving only?

I made this a week ago but found I needed more tomato paste in it, it was too bacon-y & not tomato-y enough so I just added more after it was cooked & it was delish

Hi Turtle - Just because it's quicker not to and it saves on dishes! This recipe makes a tender, light sauce. You can brown the mince first if you prefer a darker sauce.

Made today with red wine, superb!

I made this meal in the slow cooker on Wednesday night - it is wonderful and so easy to create. Meat doesn't need browning at all - lovely and tender. With the leftovers I created two small meat pies and shared one with our neighbour. Two more portions were frozen for another meal. So far it has fed 10 adults. Thanks Annabelle

Just wondered why you don't brown the meat first unlike most slow cooker recipes??
