Salted Edamame

Steamed green soya beans – edamame – are one of my favourite Japanese finger foods.

Salted Edamame
500g / 1 lb edamame in the pod 1 tsp flaky salt

6-8 mins
Serves:
6 as a starter
  • 500g / 1 lb edamame in the pod
  • 1 tsp flaky salt

Place edamame pods in a pot with a little water and steam for 6-8 minutes. Transfer to a serving bowl, season with salt and serve hot, with a separate bowl for the empty pods. To eat, pull the pods through your teeth to release the beans inside.
