Annabel Langbein Best Fruit Cake! Recipe
Best Fruit Cake!
1/2lb Butter1 cup Water2lbs Mixed FruitBring to the boil, then Cool.(The less you cool the moisture, the moister this cake will be)Add1 tin Condense Milk1tbspn Vinegar2 tbspn Sherry or Brandy (optional)2 cups Flour1 tspn Baking Powder1 tspn Baking Soda1 tspn Mixed Spice1/2 tspn Ground Cloves (must have)Vanilla EssenceGlazed Cherries & Nuts (optional)

20
1/2lb Butter
1 cup Water
2lbs Mixed Fruit
Bring to the boil, then Cool.
(The less you cool the moisture, the moister this cake will be)
Add
1 tin Condense Milk
1tbspn Vinegar
2 tbspn Sherry or Brandy (optional)
2 cups Flour
1 tspn Baking Powder
1 tspn Baking Soda
1 tspn Mixed Spice
1/2 tspn Ground Cloves (must have)
Vanilla Essence
Glazed Cherries & Nuts (optional)
Boil and cool first three ingredients

Add remainder ingredients.

Line with Baking paper 20cm Square or Round Cake Tin, add mixture.

Bake at 130C 2 Hours



I have given this recipe to so many people and would love very much for this to be published one day I really enjoy cooking Annabels recipes as they are so reliable and lovely to use.
