Congratulations Kerry from Woodville, the winner of our Luxury Six-Day Lake Wanaka Foodie’s Tour competition in Australia. Kerry and her husband will cross the Tasman with Air New Zealand to Queenstown, where they’ll pick up an Avis rental car and spend the next six days enjoying the food, wine and luxury accommodation of the Wanaka region courtesy of Northburn Station, Mountain Range Boutique Lodge and Lake Wanaka Tourism. Bliss!
Ellen from Winton won a fabulous premium selection of Essential Cuisine products (stock, pesto and jus), a chiller bag and a boxed set of two Frui knives, together worth $350. Fabulous!
Nicky from Christchurch won our six-day luxury foodie’s tour of Central Otago competition. It turns out the prize couldn't have gone to a more deserving couple – having lost their Bexley home during the February quake, she and her husband Geoff were living in a campervan in the garden, so an escape to luxury accommodation in Lake Wanaka was just the ticket! Their busy itinerary included a scenic plane ride, a jet boat adventure, a lake cruise and plenty of dining and wine tasting. “The trip was a whole series of highlights," says Nicky. “We never realised how much there was to do in Wanaka and we’ll definitely be back!” She says the trip helped them come to terms with what had happened in Christchurch and plan for the future. “Once we’d started to relax a little we could rationally think about what we had to do. Life will go on, it just won’t be the same as before.” Ironically, all of Nicky’s cookbooks were lost in the quake, including the copy of Annabel Langbein The Free Range Cook that won her the competition. We have replaced it and hope it's not long until she has a kitchen to cook in again.
